Not everything comes down to cold hard numbers. Business may be balance sheets and inventory and assets, but it's the relationships that make the difference. Your relationship building skills can make a difference in your success. From nepotism to relationship networking, how we interact with other humans determines if we get the sale, promotion, or referral.

I feel like this should be obvious. I’m not saying you need to be best friends with everyone you work with or want to work with. My point is that connecting and building relationships with people is one way to move toward your goals. What I can tell you is that No matter what stage of business you're in, building relationships is always a good idea. It doesn't mean you will act on things right away, but, thinking long-term, the relationships you build now could save you later.

  • What are you really good at when it comes to building relationships?

So here's the fun part. This is where you get to decide where you want to go with your relationship building. If you've decided that it's something that's important to you, you get to choose how far you go how fast. A few things to think about

  • Who are the people you want to connect or reconnect with?
  • How can you work it into your daily life to reach out?
  • What are you comfortable with when it comes to a meeting?  Video, phone call, etc 
  • Do you need help or tools to streamline that process?
