A Year in Review: 5 Questions to Ask Yourself
It’s the end of the year, and you know what that means — it’s time to complete a year in review and reflect on the last 12 months and consider what worked, what didn’t work, and how to move forward. But where do you start? Fear not!
Before we get to that though, we’ve been doing our own soul-searching and reflection here at ConnectWork on Main. In the coming months, we’ll be increasing new member rates. The first quarter (Jan-Mar) of 2023 will be the last time to get in on the founder rates here at ConnectWork on Main. We so appreciate everyone who’s supported us over the years and we’re looking forward to what the new year brings.
Now on to the fun stuff!
Here are 5 questions to ask yourself as you review the last 12 months…
This is geared towards personal reflection. Feel free to grab a journal, take notes, and work through this set of questions with intention. You can find more information on how to assess your business year here.
1. What did I achieve?
This is a great place to start. Asking yourself this question will help you identify any successes or accomplishments over the past year. When you focus on your wins, it will provide a positive outlook for the future and give you more confidence in setting goals for next 12 months.
2. What do I need to leave behind?
The new year is also a great time to rid yourself of anything that isn’t serving you well anymore. Maybe it’s an old habit, an outdated way of thinking, or even toxic people or relationships — now is your chance to take control and begin fresh with a clear headspace.
3. What can I improve on?
Every business has room for improvement, so use this question as an opportunity to think about how your current strategies could be improved upon in the coming months. Maybe there are ways you can streamline processes or increase efficiency? There will always be areas of growth when it comes to running a successful business — don’t forget that!
4. How can I make my life easier?
This one is especially important for busy entrepreneurs and freelancers who are constantly trying to balance their workload with personal obligations and activities outside of work — but it applies across all industries too! Think about how you can make your life easier by delegating tasks or automating certain processes (like managing emails) so that you have more time available each day and week for other things that matter most in life.
5. What am I passionate about?
Finally, remember that work isn’t everything! At times we get so caught up in our jobs, we forget why we started doing them in the first place — because we were passionate about something! Use this question as an opportunity to reconnect with your passions and find ways to incorporate them into your business model if possible. You never know where creative ideas might lead…
