Confessions and 3 Year Anniversary in Coworking in Butler

3 Year Anniversary in Coworking

It's been three years since I bought ConnectWork on Main, Butler's coworking space. If you want more on that story, be sure to listen to the podcast below. This isn't going to be a woe-is-me post, I love being a coworking space owner. I want to share how we are moving forward, stimulating economic growth in the community, and encouraging people to dream big. My 3 year anniversary in coworking does not find me where I thought I would be. I had goals and dreams in 2020, just like everyone else. But it's ok.

In the past three years, we've seen some amazing things happen at ConnectWork. We've hosted events that have brought people together and we've seen businesses start and grow in our space. Members have found their dream jobs, changed career paths, and found ways to pursue their passions. We're proud to be a part of the Butler community and we're excited to continue supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs. Thanks for being a part of our journey!

Ready for the next phase

I am so ready for the next phase. I am ready for you! Going to a shared space might seem completely nutty right now. Totally get it. While I’ve taken every precaution I can to mitigate risk, it’s still there. Everyone has to make their own choice based on their comfort level. You can check out our policies and current protocols here.

With more and more companies sending their employees back to the office, many people are finding themselves in need of a new workspace. For some, this means getting away from the kids and working in a quiet, adult-only environment. For others, it means taking advantage of the weather and working outside of the house. And for those who have been working in their cars, it might just mean having a desk again.

Whatever the reason, coworking spaces are becoming an increasingly popular option for those who want to spread out and enjoy the benefits of working in an office setting. From shared conference rooms to dedicated desks, coworking spaces offer a variety of options for those who need a little extra space. So if you're looking for a change of scenery, consider coworking as your next phase.

So dust off those old resumes and get ready to give them a makeover – we can't wait to see what you come up with!

Professional Headshots

We started offering professional headshots in 2021 and we have continued this offering through 2022. We've already had requests for 2023 dates and we're excited to continue offering the popup photo studio. It started out as an opportunity for a current member to practice taking headshots and has turned into a fun way for people to meet, network, and get a profesh photo.

Game Nights

It's been a long year, and we've all been feeling it. But one silver lining has been the game nights that we've been hosting in person. It's been a great way to stay connected with friends old and new, and to blow off some steam. We've been doing it for over a year now, and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon. There is a night for teens and one for adults. So if you're looking for something fun to do, come join us for our next game night. We promise you won't regret it.

Upgrades and Amenities

The last 12 months have seen quite a few changes around the CoWork. I’ve updated/changed the furniture and added new equipment to support whatever you are creating. This includes

  • Podcasting equipment
  • Binding materials/machine for booklets and reports
  • Mailing setup complete with labels and postal thingys
  • Professional lightboxes
  • Standing height desk (movable)
  • Monitors with adapters
  • Unofficial Tool Lending Library
  • Growler Library
  • Professional cleaning from Partners In Grime Cleaning Services

I’m hoping 2023 will bring even more opportunities to upgrade the space and support our members. I hear there is a kitchen in the works (wooooo!). Have suggestions? I'd love to hear them!

Sharing what we’re all about for our 3 Year Anniversary in Coworking

After talking to tons of new people about ConnectWork on Main and what we’re all about, I’ve noticed a couple of things about myself. The things I love about my co-work are not always top of mind for everyone else. In addition, I tend to focus on (and share) details that don’t show the whole picture or highlight the benefits well. Hooray for self-awareness and identifying places to improve.

Things I love about my CoWork

  • Sensory-friendly
  • Inclusive
  • Make your own desk location with nesting desks
  • Pop up Podcast/audio recording and photo studio concept
  • Mad Men vibe sans the chauvinism

Benefits of being a member

  • Free (local) coffee… Need I say more?
  • Use of color printer/scanner (included in membership)
  • Conference room use up to 20 people (or within any lower constraints per mandate)
  • Closed-door offices for meetings or long phone calls
  • Joining a community of epic humans who are excited to meet you and see you succeed
  • Be part of our Slack channel – this is like Facebook without the distractions
  • Annual professional headshot
  • And more 😛

My hopes and dreams as I hit the 3 year anniversary in coworking mark

The CoWork is my answer to wanting to support the community (without volunteering for one more thing). If you're a member of the CoWork I will answer any question in Slack and if you find you need support or additional expertise, I will tap my network.

My dream for the CoWork has always been to have a place where you could work alongside friends and create a space where everyone felt like they could excel and have fun doing it. The missing piece is having you there. I’ve done my best to make membership accessible and the space appealing. I’m excited to meet and welcome humans who know when they find ConnectWork on Main that it’s the right place for them.

Here’s to the next 12 months! Hopefully, we can have a grand opening celebration soon 🤣 Until then… Check out the Events happening for the public. I can’t wait to meet you!
